National Assembly Vice Chairman Phung Quoc Hien said most deputies support the resolution: “Some deputies think the 2012 Capital Law should be amended to match the new situation. The National Assembly Standing Committee will take into consideration the deputies’ ideas for the resolution before submitting it to the National Assembly for approval”.

In 2017 the National Assembly passed a resolution on piloting the special mechanisms and policies, which allows Ho Chi Minh city authorities to make decisions on many issues that are within the authority of the Prime Minister.
