Deputy Nguyen Tam Hung of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province said, “This time’s amendment marks a historic step to lay the legal foundation for continued reform of the State apparatus. The 2013 Constitution revision is an indispensable requirement to meet practical needs.”

Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, a deputy of Lao Cai delegation, stressed the need to conduct the collection of public opinions in an open, democratic, and substantive manner, with diverse formats tailored to different target groups.

“Given the very short time frame of just one month, it’s necessary to promulgate clear, detailed guidelines to ensure that the feedback gathering, review, and response to opinions are conducted transparently. This process must reflect a genuine willingness to listen to and a deep respect for people’s opinions. The National Assembly and relevant agencies must prepare thoroughly to ensure the quality, progress, and social consensus,” said Lan Anh.

Starting Tuesday, Vietnam will collect public opinions on the amendments and supplementation of the Constitution.

Hoang Thanh Tung, Chairman of the Committee on Law and Justice, said, “In this round of public consultation, we’ll apply a new method, using VneID app, to collect public opinions quickly and comprehensively. This approach is designed to meet the urgent timeline required.”

Vietnam is streamlining its state apparatus and organizing a two-tier local government. In order to establish a legal foundation for the restructured system, amending the Constitution has become a top priority.
