(VOVworld) – Moldova’s Parliament approved a new government cabinet on Thursday. The new Moldovan cabinet has 14 Ministers and 4 Deputy Prime Ministers from 3 major parties: the Liberal Democratic Party, the Democratic Party, and the Liberal Party. The Moldovan foreign minister and economic minister concurrently hold the position of Deputy Prime Minister.

Moldova’s Prime Minister Valery Strelet said his government’s current priorities are to tackle economic recession and corruption, and pay salaries, pensions, and social welfare on time. His foreign policy is to promote Moldova’s political and economic links with the EU towards obtaining EU membership and to strengthen strategic dialogues with the US and Romania. Strelet pledged to foster multifaceted ties with Ukraine, and promote dialogue with Russia, in order to normalize bilateral relations, especially in trade, energy, and migration.
