(VOVWORLD) - Senior Israeli officials have maintained a hardline stance that they will only negotiate a final deal to end the Gaza conflict if Hamas releases all 50 hostages in captivity.

The Jerusalem Post reported on Wednesday that Israel has set additional demands, including the disarmament of Hamas and the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip. This move rejects a proposal for a partial ceasefire put forward by US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff.

In another development, Israel is in talks with several countries about the possibility of resettling Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. According to Israel’s Channel 12, negotiations are underway with Indonesia, Uganda, South Sudan, Libya, and the Somaliland territory of Somalia.

Official Israeli sources said some countries have shown openness to accepting voluntary migrants from Gaza. The move comes after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly supported a mass relocation plan for Gaza residents and confirmed ongoing discussions with countries on the issue, despite strong opposition from the international community.
