(VOVWORLD) - The ceasefire between Israel and Iran was strictly observed on Tuesday. Neither side made any further accusations of ceasefire violations against the other.

In the first major statement since President Trump announced a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Tuesday night that Israel had achieved a historic victory in its 12-day military confrontation with Iran.

The Israeli leader reiterated his stance of not allowing Iran to possess nuclear weapons, warning that Israel will take strong action again if Tehran attempts to revive its nuclear program.

Israeli authorities announced the full restoration of operations at Ben Gurion Airport, Israel’s largest international airport. Restrictions on the number of passengers on flights to and from the airport were lifted. Duty-free shops inside the airport were reopened.

In Iran, President Masoud Pezeshkian declared that Iran had achieved a historic victory in the 12-day war initiated by Israel. Pezeshkian praised the heroic resistance of the nation, which forced the enemy to accept a ceasefire and abandon its war efforts against Iran.

Thousands of Iranians in the capital Tehran and other cities took to the streets to celebrate the ceasefire.
