(VOVworld) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Monday that the West has no choice but to lift its “cruel” sanctions on Iran.

He reiterated the peaceful purpose of Iran’s nuclear program, adding that Iran is holding “logical and calculated” negotiations with the P5+1. Iran and the P5+1 will resume their nuclear talks on Wednesday in Geneva. As the deadline of November 14 passed without any comprehensive agreement, the two sides agreed to extend the deadline to July, 2015, and are expected to reach a framework agreement by March, 2015.
