(VOVWORLD) - The state visit to the Republic of Korea by Party General Secretary To Lam, his wife Ngo Phuong Ly, and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation from August 10-13 has attracted significant attention from international media.

Major RoK outlets, including Yonhap News Agency, KBS, The Korea Herald, and The Korea Times, provided prominent coverage of the talks held on Monday between General Secretary Lam and President Lee Jae Myung.

The Yonhap News Agency reported that South Korean and Vietnam leaders have agreed to strive for 150 billion USD bilateral trade target and announced an agreement to promote bilateral cooperation in several key sectors, as well as the prospects for bilateral collaboration in artificial intelligence, renewable energy, nuclear power, biotechnology, and high-speed rail, among others.

South Korean media also quoted President Lee Jae Myung as inviting Vietnamese representatives to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit and agreeing to strengthen coordination at multilateral forums, details that South Korean political analysts see as a sign of Seoul’s high regard for Vietnam’s role on the international stage.

Reuters and devdiscourse.com of India assessed that the meeting reflected the two countries’ efforts to boost economic and strategic cooperation. The Vietnamese leader’s trip is expected to pave the way for Korean businesses to invest in key infrastructure projects in Vietnam.

Ainvest.com of the US said the RoK–Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has emerged as a beacon of economic resilience. It affirmed that the partnership is a forward-looking strategy aimed at building a resilient, sustainable economic corridor. By focusing on infrastructure and energy, the two countries are reating a model for tariff-resilient growth that appeals to global investors.
