The proposal has been submitted to the defense acquisition council, and is likely to be announced during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to France this week. This deal, valued at nearly 11 billion USD, is still subject to negotiation.

It is anticipated that India and France will establish a negotiating team to finalize the details. India has previously purchased 36 Rafales aircraft from France.
