Five Yemeni staff and fifteen foreign staff remain detained within the compound.
The UN is in touch with authorities in Sanaa, with the states involved, and with the government of Yemen to resolve the situation as quickly as possible, free all personnel, and restore UN control of its facilities in Sanaa.
The Houthis raided the UN office in Sanaa on Saturday, accusing several staff members of spying. Stéphane Dujarric, spokesperson for UN Secretary-General António Guterres, condemned the Houthi allegations as “dangerous and unacceptable.”
