(VOVworld) - Ho Chi Minh City supports foreign investment which turns out high value-added such as in financial-banking, insurance, and tourism, Municipal People’s Committee Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong said in a Wednesday reception for AIA group President and CEO Mark Edward Tucker.

Mr. Phong said Ho Chi Minh city aims to become a financial, commercial, and scientific and technological hub for Southeast Asia, where Thu Thiem new urban area will be an economic and financial centre. He said the city’s authorities had pledged to address foreign businesses’ difficulties, adding that Ho Chi Minh City was devising a scheme to build a smart city by 2025 to better serve people and firms.
