(VOVworld) – The 2nd Ho Chi Minh city’s Ao dai festival has opened at Dam Sen park. The annual Ao dai festival honors and promotes the values of Vietnamese culture and the traditional dress.

Ao dai models of different historical periods are displayed at the festival, creating a cultural exchange between Ao dai designers and the public.
Nguyen Thi Hong, Vice Chairwoman of HCM City People’s Committee, said: “Vietnamese time-honored culture has influenced the awareness and lifestyle of Vietnamese people. The Ao dai festival aims to honor Vietnam’s traditional dress and review Vietnam’s historical and cultural values.”
The 2-day festival consists of an Ao dai painting contest for children, an Ao dai photo contest for families and groups, and an Ao dai pageant contest for people from 18 to 35 years old.
