The report was released at Monday’s ceremony in Hanoi to mark the 10‑year anniversary of its establishment and receiving the third-class Fatherland Defense Order.

VNMAC was established with the Prime Minister’s approval in 2014 to carry out the national action program on mitigating the consequences of bombs and mines after wartime, known as “Program 504”.

Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, asked the Center to perform a number of tasks with a focus on promoting the study, its analysis, and its continued forecasting of international and domestic situations in overcoming the consequences of landmines and bombs.

Tan underscored the need to map out a plan to overcome the consequences of bombs and mines until 2045, with an orientation to 2050.
