Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Minister of National Defense chaired the 90-minute combined rehearsal, which began with a flag raising ceremony to the accompaniment of the military band. Then came the helicopters flying the Party flag and national flag as well as the military parades and demonstration advancing through the main stage.
After the training session, Senior Lieutenant General Cuong said that the harsh weather and prolonged heat wave made training difficult, however, the celebration will be an important event for the whole country, so participants need to promote the spirit of overcoming difficulties to practice and perform successfully on May 7.
There will be gun salute force, the airshow force, the parade force, and more than 12,000 people standing on the ground for the event.
The program will begin with a 21-gun salute on the background of the Vietnamese National Anthem, followed by a performance by nine helicopters carrying the national flag, the military parade and demonstration plus art performances on the ground.
