Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Hoang Nam has ordered the local mine action center to complete a set of landmine and explosive safety criteria to be applied across the province, ensuring that local people will be able to live safely in areas previously contaminated by bombs and mines.

To realize this plan, Quang Tri will combine various actions such as creating a complete map of locations with unexploded mines and bombs (UXO), conducting both technical and non-technical surveys, by placing warning signs in areas where demining has not yet been carried out, by raising public awareness of mine accident prevention, and establishing task force teams to handle bombs and mines found by civilians.

It is striving to complete all the surveys by 2027 while asking bomb and mine action organizations to study new technologies with a view to speeding up the clearance work and head toward becoming a safe locality from bombs and mines by 2025.
