Moise told reporters that the plotters planned to kill him.
Opposition forces said last week that they intend to replace President Moise, blaming him for the chaotic economic situation in Haiti, the Western hemisphere’s poorest country.
The opposition's plan called for members of civil society and opposition leaders to pick a new president from one of the sitting Supreme Court judges, instead of waiting for general elections scheduled for September.
