The northern province's world heritage site Ha Long Bay received more than 53,000 visitors, the highest number since the reopening of tourism on March 15 and almost back to the pre-COVID-19 level.

Museums, the Yen Tu landscape complex, and entertainment areas were crowded with tourists.

Trinh Dang Thanh, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Tourism, said, “There is still a strong potential to develop tourism on Ha Long Bay.”

“Currently, tourists coming to Quang Ninh mainly visit the sights and caves. Beach activities,  adventure sports, and cultural tourism haven’t yet been fully exploited. We’ll work with the Ha Long Bay Management Board to design a strategy for the Bay’s sustainable development.”

Quang Ninh is half way to its goal of welcoming 10 million visitors this year.
