|Tourism products are diversified to recover local tourism
HCM City has recently launched a campaign called “Welcome to HCM City” to connect and mobilize local resources as well as Vietnamese agencies abroad, and including departments, associations, businesses and the public, to revive the local tourism sector.
During the campaign, the city will strengthen promotion activities, organize various events to attract visitors, and encourage the aviation, travel, and accommodation sectors to implement stimulus programs.
Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the municipal Tourism Department, said: “At the launch of the “Welcome to HCM City” campaign, we had more opportunities to approach tourists and understand their needs. With support by foreign ambassadors and diplomatic agencies, we hope the city’s image will be further promoted.”
Travel businesses in Thua Thien Hue province have created new tourism products including a sunset boat tour on the Perfume River, green tours, or cyclo tours of Hue heritage sites featuring the ao dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress).
Quang Ninh province is offering big discounts for entrance fees to Ha Long Bay and the Yen Tu relic site, as well as for boat tickets. The province has also launched several new tours and plans to organize several cultural activities this summer, particularly during the upcoming holidays celebrating National Liberation Day (April 30) and May Day.
Da Nang has also introduced its tourism stimulus program with the theme “Enjoy Da Nang”. The program offers packages for local resort experiences, packages linking air routes between Da Nang and Hai Phong, health care tourism packages, resort and golf packages, and discounts of 20-50% for hotels and entrance tickets to tourist destinations.
The city will pilot night tourism activities on My An Beach and An Thuong tourist street and intends to organize a culinary and bee festival in Sun World Ba Na Hills and a CampFest festival in Toom Sara Village in the Suoi Hoa tourist locale.
