Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh, a UNESCO-recognized world heritage site is first on the list. The limestone karst pillars in Ha Long Bay aren’t unique to Vietnam, “but nowhere on Earth is their scale so dramatic”, the magazine wrote.
Hoi An ancient town came sixth on the list. “Far removed from the fogs of exhaust that envelop many a visit to Southeast Asia, UNESCO-listed Hoi An is a quiet, sculpted riposte to the pace of modern Vietnamese life”, Wanderlust wrote.
And ninth on the list is the UNESCO-recognized Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, with its greatest attraction being its stunning caves and underground rivers that vein the land beneath.
Other sites listed by Wanderlust include Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park in the Philippines, Komodo National Park in Indonesia, and Sukhothai and Associated Historic Towns in Thailand.
