Although the total number of air passengers decreased, international travelers by air in the reviewed period increased sharply, reaching 553 thousand passengers.
In April, Vietnam welcomed more than 232 thousand foreigners, an increase of over 500% compared to the same period last year. International visitors to/from Vietnam have continued to increase sharply since the government lifted entry restrictions from mid-March.
The number of international arrivals by air in April was equal to the total number of the previous three months.
The two largest airports in Vietnam, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, currently receive about 10,000 international arrivals every day on average.
