Folk knowledge of Hue beef noodle recognized as national heritage

(VOVWORLD) -Hue City has just added a new national intangible heritage, which is the “Folk knowledge of Bun Bo Hue (Hue beef noodle)”. The recognition highlights the historical, cultural, artistic and economic value of the signature dish of Vietnam’s ancient capital.

Bun Bo Hue, a popular dish in Hue, is the crystallization of hundreds of years of folk knowledge passed down through many generations.

In 2014, Bun Bo Hue was introduced by US chef Anthony Boudain on CNN as "the world’s best noodle soup". Two years later, it was included in the Top 100 valuable Asian dishes by the Asian Record Organization. In 2023, Taste Atlas, an international culinary website, ranked Hue at 28th place in the 100 cities with the best food in the world and Bun Bo Hue was considered "a must-try Hue dish".
