The event, organized by the Royal Thai Government and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) from Wednesday to Thursday, discussed solutions to online scamming, a transnational threat linked to human trafficking, forced labor, and money laundering.
At the conference's opening ceremony, Mr. Tuan called on countries to sign and ratify the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime (often called the Hanoi Convention). He said sharing information and electronic evidence in a timely manner is crucial to preventing and prosecuting cybercrime.
The conference will issue a Joint Statement to strengthen collaboration in combating online scams.
