At the forum held by the Business Forum Magazine of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in Hanoi on Thursday, VCCI Vice President Hoang Quang Phong stressed that restructuring the energy sector is an inevitable requirement to form a healthy, competitive, and transparent energy market.

In this process, he said, it’s necessary to promote the leading role of state-owned enterprises in key areas, while clearly separating production and business activities from political and public-service tasks. At the same time, mechanisms and policies should be improved to enable the private sector to play a stronger role in investment, operation, and energy supply.
