The work produced by the Lebanese artist Bachir Mohamad is on view in the city’s contemporary art center. All of the proceeds from selling the teddy bears will be donated to programs supporting children of Gaza.
Visitor Maha Al Said said: “The idea of teddy bears representing children touched my heart. The author recreates scenes of children being buried under the rubble, living in tragedy, and deprived from the right to education. The installation art touched the hearts of many people. The teddy bears represent the children and make a stronger call to an end to war.”
Amer Al Basiri, Exhibition Fund Manager, said: “The exhibition opened with 15,000 teddy bears. After 2 to 3 days, only a quarter of them remain. People of many nationalities came to the exhibition and brought home a teddy bear with a hope to contribute to alleviating the suffering of the children there.”
