As Vietnam and EU countries reopen to international trade, Mr. Thanh said he wants the EU to facilitate Vietnamese exports and urged the European Commission to push forward the ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) to further bilateral economic cooperation.

Timmermans said the European Union attaches importance to the partnership and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam, adding that the bloc wants to work more closely with Vietnam in climate change response to fulfil the commitments Vietnam made at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 26).
The EU supports and will work to promote cooperation with Vietnam through private investments, resources, and international financial funding, Timmermans said.
