Both sides pledged to step up collaboration for the early ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), removal of the yellow card warning on Vietnam’s fisheries, and the fight against COVID-19 as the coronavirus keeps mutating.

The two sides also discussed the 10th Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), scheduled for January 2022 in New York. They exchanged their priorities and said they all regard this as a big opportunity for member states to reiterate their strong political commitment, review the implementation of the treaty, and suggest orientations to its future implementation.

The two sides promised to engage in dialogues to improve mutual understanding on issues of shared concern in a spirit of mutual respect, good will, and cooperation within existing mechanisms.
