(VOVworld) – The newly-appointed EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, said on Tuesday that new sanctions on Russia would be announced by Friday.

Addressing a joint press conference with Elmar Brok, Chairman of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs, Mogherini said that up-coming sanctions against Russia would be proposed on Thursday. The EU Committee of Permanent Representatives would then review and approve them by Friday.
