The convoy carried 3,540 tons of food, 2,345 tons of medical supplies, 210 tons of infant formula, plus winter clothing, blankets, and tents.
Since the outbreak of fighting in Gaza in October, 2023, Egypt has led the largest and most sustained humanitarian relief operation in modern history, delivering more than 800,000 tons of aid, about 70% of all international assistance, to the enclave.
Cairo has also been actively involved in efforts to implement a US-backed Gaza peace initiative and has acted as a mediator in Palestinian reconciliation talks.
