The Vietnamese government considers digital infrastructure, data infrastructure and national digital platforms to be key factors and is trying to accelerate the national digital transformation roadmap, said Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Huy Dung.
The online event attracted the participation of senior leaders of the Government, agencies, ministries, economic groups and organizations in economic sectors that have demand for digital transformation.
They agreed that digital transformation has started its journey in Vietnam with more challenges ahead requiring acceleration and more efficiency.
Director of IT Department of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Do Cong Anh, said,“Smart phones and broadband coverage are prerequisite for digital transformation. Digital market requires digital citizens active on digital environment as well as digital identification for personal verification without face to face visits. Cyber security is a must and citizens must be equipped with basic skills and software to protect themselves in cyber space.”
By 2030, Vietnam aims to complete digital government building. The digital economy will contribute 30% of GDP and Vietnam will rank among the top 50 countries in the world and third in the ASEAN region.
