According to the annual SYNC Southeast Asia report, Vietnam is at the forefront of driving change and seizing opportunities to thrive with the help of digital transformation in a post-pandemic future.
The report surveyed 16,700 digital consumers and more than 20 C-level employees in six Southeast Asian countries. Respondents said Southeast Asia is the leader of digital transformation in the Asia-Pacific region with Vietnam as one of the best performers.
In Vietnam, seven out of ten consumers have digital access. Vietnam will have 53 million digital consumers by the end of 2021. The volume of goods purchased online in 2021 went up 50% from 2020 while the number of online stores in Vietnam was 40% higher than that in 2020. This resulted in a 1.5-fold increase in total online retail sales nationwide.
