During a talk in Hanoi on Friday with a high-ranking military delegation from the Royal Thai Armed Forces led by Chief of Defense Forces General Songwit Noonpackdee, , General Cuong reiterated Vietnam's consistent stance on resolving all disputes and differences through peaceful means, based on international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

The two sides discussed regional and global situations and reaffirmed that defense cooperation is a key pillar of the Vietnam–Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

General Songwit Noonpackdee expressed his desire for both sides to continue advancing the agreed areas of cooperation, with a particular focus on defense industry collaboration.
