During the meeting, the Chinese businesses expressed strong interest in the quality of raw material areas, traceability processes, and Dak Lak’s capacity for durian processing and packaging. The two sides also discussed plans for cooperation to expand official export channels, diversify markets beyond China, and strengthen information exchange on market trends and consumer preferences to build a more sustainable brand for Vietnamese durian in China.
Le Anh Trung, Chairman of the Dak Lak Durian Association, said: “Market information is a key factor in ensuring sustainable exports. Without meetings and information exchanges, it will be difficult for businesses and farmers to know each other’s needs and capacities. Through dialogues, both sides can better grasp production and consumption requirements, thereby improving the processes and meeting the market demands better.”
Dak Lak now has nearly 40,000 hectares of durian, with this year’s output estimated at nearly 400,000 tons. The province has been granted approval from China for 269 planting area codes covering nearly 7,400 hectares, along with 40 fresh fruit packing facilities and 11 frozen durian facilities for export.
