This is a positive turnaround following the sector's strong decline in the first months of 2025, said Dang Phuc Nguyen, General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association (VinaFruit), adding that much of the recovery is attributed to strong performance from durian, which played a pivotal role in export growth in 2023.
Standard supply plus with strict quality control from harvesting to packaging, has helped businesses export their goods back to markets such as China and Thailand. In addition to durian, other products such as coconut, processed mango and passion fruit also recorded high growth.
Exports to the US, Japan, Taiwan (China) and the Netherlands maintained impressive growth, from 10% to 70% compared to the same period last year.
