COVID-19 tracing app garners 5.2 million downloads in one month

(VOVWORLD) - 30 million smartphone users have downloaded Bluezone, a locally-developed app that helps determine if a person has come in contact with a COVID-19 patient, according to the Ministry of Information and Communications.

Since January 28, when the coronavirus surged in Vietnam for the third time, the app has garnered 5.2 million downloads. Many Bluezone users are from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh city. Bluezone lets users submit declarations online. The app will soon use QR codes to check entries/exits at public sites and monitor vaccinations.
