Regional tensions have soared following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas' top leader, in Tehran on Wednesday, a day after an Israeli strike in Beirut killed Fuad Shukr, a senior military commander of the Lebanese group Hezbollah.
France on Sunday urged its citizens to temporarily leave Iran, warning that airspace and airports in Iran could be closed due to growing concerns about a wider conflict in the region.
On the same day, Saudi Arabia also asked its citizens to leave Lebanon immediately. Similarly, South Korea told its citizens in Lebanon and Israel to leave as soon as possible.
