(VOVworld)-A conference of the Vietnamese and Cambodian parliaments has concluded in Ho Chi Minh city with the issuance of a joint communique. At the closing ceremony yesterday, Vice Chairman of VN’s National Assembly Huynh Ngoc Son said the success of this conference is an important step in strengthening development of the cooperative ties between the two legislative bodies and two countries.

The conference said following cooperation agreements signed between the two National Assemblies on July 22, 2012 in Hanoi, both sides maintain the exchange of high-ranking delegations, accelerate activities of the two countries’  parliamentarians friendship groups, closely cooperate in international and regional inter-parliamentary forums, and jointly monitor the implementation of economic, social, cultural and educational cooperation agreements.  Vice President of Cambodian Senate Tep Ngorn said this conference is one of a series of activities to mark the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic ties and that Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year 2012 is a political event of profound significance and constitutes a vivid manifestation of the solidarity, close friendship and firm and long-term cooperation between the two peoples.

The conference affirmed the two legislative bodies’ commitment to joining governments and peoples of the ASEAN member nations in building an ASEAN of solidarity, strength, mutual respect and support, for the common goal of peace, security, cooperation and development.
The Vietnamese NA and the Cambodian NA and Senate supported the two Governments’ stance on further beefing up bilateral cooperation and the exchange of views on international and regional issues of mutual concern.

On the framework of the conference of the Vietnamese and Cambodian parliaments, nearly 500 Vietnamese and Cambodian Youth yesterday joined the Vietnam-Cambodia Youth exchange.

National Assembly delegations of Vietnam and Cambodia today/ on Friday attended cultural and sports exchanges in the provinces of Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Ving Tau. Youth members of the two countries also had many exchange activities in District 7.
