Local ship-owners and captains also signed a commitment to not violating IUU regulations. On this occasion, the Coast Guard Region 4 offered 40 gift packs to policy beneficiary families and fishermen with difficult circumstances, as well as 200 national flags, 20 first aid kits, and hundreds of promotional flyers.

Throughout 2023, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command has held many communication sessions IUU fishing regulations in 5 provinces, including Kien Giang, Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, and Ben Tre.

The Command has also increased patrolling, inspecting, managing, and monitoring fishing vessels operating on maritime boundaries and overlapping areas. Punishment for violations is combined with providing information on laws to fishermen.
