(VOVworld) – Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao visited the Hanoi Archbishop’s Office Wednesday to extend Tet wishes to Catholic dignitaries and followers in the city.

Mr Thao lauded the achievements and contributions of Cardinal Nguyen Van Nhon and Catholic followers in past years. Thao said he hopes the Catholic community will continue to unite to develop a civilised and modern Hanoi and reduce poverty.
Cardinal Nguyen Van Nhon said he is honoured to be one of the 20 Cardinals around the world appointed by Pope Francis in 2014, adding that he will do his utmost to serve the Vietnamese Catholic community.
