Wang said bilateral relations are at a critical juncture, adding that the most important lesson learned after nearly half a century of diplomatic relations is that equality and respect are the premise for bilateral exchanges, and dialogue and cooperation are the only correct choice.
He expressed regret that Washington recently introduced a series of negative measures based on groundless pretexts that have harmed Beijing’s legitimate rights and interests, stressing that China firmly opposes those actions.
The Chinese FM urged the US to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state during a phone call in January and get bilateral relations back on track.
