Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Tran Dai Quang co-hosted a banquet in honor of Chinese leader Xi Jinping, November 12, 2017.

Mr. Trong was speaking at a banquet in Hanoi on Sunday for Mr. Xi, who paid a state visit to Vietnam on Sunday and Monday. The visit was Mr. Xi’s first overseas trip after the 19th Congress of the Communist Party of China.
Mr. Trong said: “The stable, long-term growth and achievements of the ties between the two Parties and States are an integral factor in the stability and development of each country. It is Vietnam’s wish to work with the Party, State and people of China to strengthen their traditional friendship and practical collaboration to make their bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership grow unceasingly in a healthy, stable manner.”
Mr. Xi said he had a productive talk with Mr. Trong and that the two sides had signed a number of cooperative agreements. He noted that cooperation between China and Vietnam will continue to expand in the years to come.
