(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited Cao Bang on Thursday to inspect the progress of the Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) expressway project. This marks the second visit by the Prime Minister this year to encourage contractors and workers at the construction site, providing a boost to this significant transportation project.

At the site, the Prime Minister urged project contractors, enterprises, and local authorities to work together, overcome challenges, and accelerate progress with urgency, responsibility, and innovation, to enable the route to be opened in 2025, in time for major national holidays.

He also called on the People's Committees of local districts to speed up land clearance efforts to ensure that construction can progress smoothly in the remaining months of the year and into the following period.

Following his site inspection, the Prime Minister met with the leaders of Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces, as well as officials from the Ministry of Transport and other relevant ministries. He stressed the need for a shift in thinking and working methods to expedite the project, emphasizing the importance of collaboration, time management, and problem-solving to drive national development.

The Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway, stretching 121 km through Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces, is a key infrastructure project that will enhance domestic and international trade connectivity. Once completed, it will significantly improve the competitiveness of the regions, contributing to broader socio-economic development, and strengthening national security and defense.
