Attendees of ASOEN 31, being held from Tuesday to Friday, will discuss ways to improve the bloc and realize the goals of the ASEAN Strategic Plan on Environment.
Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Vo Tuan Nhan said the Vietnamese Government always attaches importance to environmental protection, especially biodiversity conservation; the management of water resources, the marine environment, and coastal zones; climate change mitigation; and solutions for chemical waste and marine plastic waste.
He noted that Vietnam strongly supports the building of an ASEAN plan of action on marine waste and ASEAN’s joint declarations at the 15th and 26th Conferences of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity. Vietnam will work closely with other ASEAN members to realize the goals of the ASEAN Master Plan and Community Vision 2025.
