At the working session, Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang stressed that amnesty is a lenient, humanitarian policy of the Party and State, reflecting the Vietnamese tradition of compassion, and is widely appreciated both domestically and internationally. The second 2025 amnesty is of special significance as it coincides with the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025).

He emphasized that the humanitarian value of amnesty lies in granting early release to eligible inmates, and also in the entire process of preparation and implementation in which prisons, including Thanh Xuan Prison, play a crucial role.

He asked the prison to continue close and comprehensive coordination with the Standing Office of the Amnesty Advisory Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, other relevant ministries and agencies, and especially local authorities, to effectively carry out the amnesty work.
