(VOVWORLD) - Foreign airlines conducted 36 flights transporting 2,055 Vietnamese passengers from Chinese Taipei, Cambodia, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, the Middle East, and Turkey back to Vietnam between January 31 to February 7, according to the Ministry of Transport.

The ministry sent a document to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to actively coordinate with agencies and units of relevant ministries, sectors and localities to urgently issue permits for the airlines to transport Vietnamese citizens back home, especially from areas where many Vietnamese are still stranded.

On January 31, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked the Ministry of Transport to permit foreign airlines to carry stranded Vietnamese citizens home.
