In his speech, Director of the Hanoi Promotion Agency Nguyen Anh Duong said this large-scale program serves as a tourism product that aims to reinforce the brand and unleash the potential and advantages of each locality, contributing to the city’s rapid and sustainable socio-economic development.
"It not only promotes the image of Hanoi’s tourism during the most beautiful season of the year but also conveys stories of the capital through the nation's glorious history," he noted.
Visitors are being treated to models of the "Victory Gate" which welcomed the liberation army’s return to Hanoi, the "Hanoi Flag Tower," the "Hang Co Railway Station," "Quan Chuong Gate," as well as spaces highlighting Hanoi’s landmarks such as Long Bien Bridge and the Old Quarter.
A corner is reserved to showcase Hanoi's cuisine, with traditional dishes like Pho and Vong village’s green young sticky rice, combined with cooking demonstrations by renowned Vietnamese chefs.
"I took my younger brother, a soldier from Truong Sa Island, to visit Hanoi, coincidentally on the opening day of the Hanoi Autumn Festival. I felt incredibly proud and excited to introduce him Hanoi’s traditional items and landmarks. It was an overwhelmingly emotional experience!" a visitor said.
"This is my first visit to Hanoi, and it happened to be in autumn. The weather is cool, the scenery is charming, and the atmosphere is lively. Hanoians are very kind and welcoming. As for the beauty of the capital, words simply can't do it justice," said another visitor.
"I’m most impressed by the models and miniatures of Hanoi's landmarks and relic sites. The replicas, created to match the original designs, are filled with memories of Hanoi's past. A wide variety of traditional Hanoi products on display are equally fascinating."
The Festival, which will run through Sunday, will also include a familiarization trip to Ung Hoa district, a workshop on "Hanoi Autumn Tourism Destinations," distinctive art performances, a photo exhibition on old Hanoi, and an introduction of typical traditional craft villages in Hanoi.
The program involves various organizations, including the Hanoi Tourism Association, the Hoan Kiem Tourism Association, the Capital Tourism Club, and the UNESCO Hanoi Travel Club. Twelve provinces and cities promote their tourism potential while travel agencies and accommodation establishments in the city introduce thousands of tourism products and tours and offer promotional vouchers.
