The discussions continued on Tuesday. According to Al-Qahera News, the delegations are “laying the groundwork for the release of detainees and prisoners.” Both sides are reportedly establishing “a mechanism” for the release of hostages held in Gaza in exchange for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

A Hamas official stated that the talks aim to “set a date for a temporary ceasefire,” under which 47 hostages held in Gaza would be freed in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.

Regional and global leaders have expressed close interest in the negotiations.

In a phone call, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed developments in the Middle East, including President Trump’s peace plan. Jordan’s King Abdullah held phone talks with Trump, while Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi praised Trump’s initiative, saying these efforts are moving in the right direction toward lasting peace and stability.
