(VOVWORLD) - Hoar frost covered Fansipan Mountain, Vietnam’s highest peak, as temperatures dropped to zero degrees Celsius early this month.

According to Lao Cai province’s Hydro-Meteorological Station, it was high-level radiation in the daytime combined with a huge drop in temperature at night that led to the formation of hoar frost.

The phenomenon began on the night of December 5 and ended on December 7, 2021.

Visitors had an opportunity to admire the snowy scene from the Fansipan cable cars, which just opened after a long shutdown during the COVID-19 pandemic.
