(VOVWORLD) - Many streets throughout the capital have been colorfully decorated with national flags, lights, flowers, and posters to ring in the Lunar New Year – the Year of the Dragon in Vietnam.

These days many streets in the capital are decorated with national flags, flowery decorative items, and posters to celebrate the Lunar New Year (Tet) and the 94th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Posters and banners are hung everywhere, with some reading “Happy New Year 2024 – the Year of the Dragon”, “Happy Spring” or “Celebrating 94 Years of the Communist Party of Vietnam”.

Office buildings across Hanoi are covered in red as part of the celebration.

A large banner erected at the headquarters of the Hanoi Party Committee reads “Celebrating 94 Years of the Communist Party of Vietnam”.

A festive atmosphere prevails on every corner of the capital city.

The Lunar New Year holiday is the largest national celebration in Vietnam every year. This year State employees will have a seven-day vacation.

Many venues have gotten a complete makeover to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

Large-sized posters are erected on the capital’s main streets to welcome the Lunar Year of the Dragon.

Entering the new year, local people expect the economy will gather full steam after surviving the COVID‑19 pandemic and global headwinds, and people’s lives will improve considerably.
