The first commercial flight of Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) using an Airbus A321 departed from Noi Bai International Airport on November 1, carrying 220 passengers to Phu Quoc. The same day, flights departed from Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, all bound for Phu Quoc.
After the inaugural Da Nang-Phu Quoc flight celebrating the launch of Sun PhuQuoc Airways, regular flights between the two destinations on this route are scheduled to begin in March next year.
A passenger on the first Ho Chi Minh City-Phu Quoc flight said: “I feel very honored to be on this flight. Onboard, passengers were served bottled water and beautifully packaged French-style pastries.”
In addition to the initial three routes Hanoi-Phu Quoc, Ho Chi Minh City-Phu Quoc, and Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City, Sun PhuQuoc Airways plans to expand its flight network and increase frequency from early next year.
Flights connecting Vietnam’s “tourism paradises” of Phu Quoc, Da Nang, and Nha Trang will be launched next March.

Tran Minh Khoa, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phu Quoc Special Administrative Zone, said: “Airlines will help boost local tourism. We will continue to improve our services to prepare for APEC 2027 to be held in Phu Quoc.”
Sun PhuQuoc Airways plans to operate international routes next year connecting Phu Quoc with South Korea, Taiwan (China), Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong (China), and India.
Vietnam’s aviation industry aims to become more modern, competitive regionally and globally. Its goal is to maintain a double-digit annual growth and rise among the leading aviation markets in the Asia-Pacific region. The launch of a new airline creates opportunities for economic development, enhances air transport and logistics capacity, and strengthens Vietnam’s international connectivity.
