Lewis, a British tourist, said he has visited Hanoi, Da Nang, Hoi An ancient town in Quang Nam province, and Ho Chi Minh City. He shared his impression when visiting the Cu Chi tunnel, “I’ve heard a lot about it. So I’m fancy to have a look. We can see the relics and ruined history in the tunnel. That is like a war museum.”

Many other relic sites such as the Saigon Special Task Force zone, the Independence Palace, and the War Remnants Museum are also always crowded with foreign visitors.

Nicole, a tourist from Switzerland, visited the War Remnants Museum. “I know that the war is very tragic, a big part of history. Before coming here I did not know much about it. I just knew that it was a long war. I learnt more about when and how it happened. The pictures are very impressive,” Nicole said.

Bethan Bones of the UK said she felt there are still more she needs to learn about the war with horrible things to see.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism has coordinated with travel businesses and the cultural sector to prepare topics to give tourists deeper understanding of historical evidences.

Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of the Department, said, “Ho Chi Minh City has diverse culture, architect, cuisine, and history. Together with general communications, we’ll focus on the city’s specific aspects to tell stories to foreign visitors.”

The War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City is the only representative of Vietnam entering the list of 99 most attractive tourist destinations in the world.
