Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with about 1,000 Vietnamese businesspeople in Ho Chi Minh city on April 29 to listen to their opinions in a frank, open, and constructive manner. He then met with over 3,000 workers in Dong Nai province to learn about their aspirations.
Resolute direction

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has expressed a resolute determination to generate favorable conditions for businesses. “The conference’s outcome must enhance businesspeople’s trust in the administration, the regime, society, and the market. They will be inspired to work harder, expand trade and production, and be confident about global integration.”

Businesspeople put forward recommendations on a number of issues, including the National Strategy for the Retail Sector, fairness among enterprises, administrative reform, human resources training, and obstacles to the real estate market. The Prime Minister said all unnecessary procedures and outdated policies that hamper the economy and business development will be removed.

Economist Huynh The Du said: “Businesspeople know about problems in the economy. The government helps businesses to operate effectively. The government should listen and understand their difficulties in order to ensure a good business environment.”

Treasuring businesses and workers

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly values enterprises and says the private economic sector is the driver of the national economy.

Dao Thi Kiem, Vice General Director of Toan Thang Steel Company, said following the meeting with the Prime Minister: “The government has introduced many measures and changes to support enterprises. I really appreciate these policies and hope that they will be implemented soon to help businesses integrate into the global economy.”

At the meeting with workers from southern provinces, Mr. Phuc answered questions on how to boost incomes and policies on housing, insurance, work safety, and vocational training for workers. He said the Party and State have paid special attention to the material and cultural well-being of workers, and underlined the importance of self-training to improve knowledge and skills.

Nguyen Duc Xuan Minh Nhat works at the Sang Viet company in Long An: “The Prime Minister is right when he says we have to try out best. Before asking for help, we have to improve ourselves. If our productivity is high, our company will prosper and we’ll have higher incomes.”

At the meetings with businesses and workers, the Prime Minister showed his strong determination to generate a good business environment and a quality labor force.
